Mermaid Run Race Update #1
During the next couple weeks, we will send out a few emails to keep you up to date on the latest news for the Mermaid Run 2008.

Mermaid Run 3/30/08
The run is filling up fast!! Make sure to let your friends know so they can reserve a spot. We expect the run to sell out. If the event sells out, there will be no "race day" registration.

Mermaid Run pre-registration. Saturday, 3/29/08
Save yourself time and stress on race by picking up your timing chip, bib number, t-shirt and goody bag at Sports Basement. If you can't make it on Saturday but one of your friends can, give them a copy of your drivers license and they'll be able to pick up everything BUT your timing chip. If you have a friend pick up your bib number, t-shirt and goody bag then on race day you'll go straight to the timing chip table. Note: you must have a photo ID on race day to pick up your timing chip.

Where: Sports Basement (Lawrence Exp., San Jose)
When: 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.on
Athletes must Bring a photo ID in order to pick up goody bag.

Pancake Breakfast
Hang out after the race for the awards ceremony, prize give away and a tasty pancake breakfast. The pancake breakfast will be hosted by the Santa Clara University Women's Rowing Team. Free for participants, however we ask for a $5 dollar donation from all non-athletes. Proceeds from the breakfast go directly to the rowing team.

Eco Mermaid
Got any old shoes? Bring them to the race and donate them! We work with several non-profits to bring shoes to places such as Mexico, Kenya, Afghanistan, Laos, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Eritrea, Phillipines and Tajikistan. We will take shoes in any condition. Bring them with you on race day and we'll take care of the rest
