It is the desire of this organization to create a worldwide team of people that have
the common goal of bringing awareness to Autism and the research and knowledge
to understand the differences found in the autistic individual.

Athletic events from walking events to triathlons to adventure racing will all be considered events that encompass the goal of racing for autism. The event will be the medium with which to gain the awareness for our cause….the racer will be you or someone you know that wants to participate in an event and wear the
Racing for Autism team uniform and colors. Corporate sponsors, contributors,
supporters for the cause will help to fund the equipment and apparel needed to
raise this organization to a worldwide common household name.

We welcome fundraising by any individual team member and will have a special contributors page for those members that would like to fundraise for this organization. This is NOT a requirement to join the team and is at no time an expectation.
This non-profit organization will join the multiple families, autistic individuals and all others that are lucky enough to spend time with autistic individuals in their life or would just like to be a part of the Racing for Autism organization.

It is an amazing time to be involved with Autism and the many research
projects that are going on to solve the puzzle of the autistic mind and understanding.
It is my sincere desire along with my husband, Bruce and our 7 yr old son Lance and his siblings, Lauren and Logan, to help find a way to understand the different level of understanding that those that are Autistic live in. According to Lance, who has a genius mind and was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at the age of 3yrs….it is like another social world. I would love to visit their world, I see into it every day when Lance says or does something that I don’t understand….I don’t believe in a cure for autism as I would never want those differences to disappear in my Lance yet it would be nice to understand why there appears to be a disconnection to different realities that are realized by those that are Autistic. Do we need a cure? Or do we need a way to communicate on their level and help them to understand our social norms. We will only know if we continue to discover the reasons for the differences.

It is with these thoughts that I hope to raise awareness for Autism and bring together those on this planet that are looking for understanding of these differences.

Sincerely,
